VT CHEP: Workshop – Abenaki Cultural Competency with Chief Crawford

This workshop was also offered at the VT CHEP Spring Convening.

Join Chief Joanne Crawford in this presentation where we will discuss the wellness challenges of the Abenaki people and what steps can be taken to help provide culturally sensitive care, resources and programming.

Learning Objectives:

1. The participants will learn about the general structure of the Abenaki government, territories and communities in order to better understand who to reach out to within the community.
2. Participants will learn about the many physical, emotional and social challenges within the Abenaki community in order to better understand and meet the needs within the community.
3. This presentation will provide participants with a basic understanding of the many strengths within the Abenaki community in order to better assist with the creation of culturally sensitive programs, services and resources.
